World PR Day: The Work Behind the Story

PR isn’t just about headlines—it’s about the authentic, creative process that happens long before.

It’s the late-night scribbles in a notebook when an idea first sparks. It’s the innovative brainstorming sessions where a simple thought transforms into a meaningful message. It’s the meticulous crafting of campaigns that aren’t just about attention—but about purpose and connection.

That’s the part of PR that hooked me back in 2008—and it’s still what drives me today.

In 2017, life took me to China, where I shifted into education—but I never left PR thinking behind. Living, working, and traveling in multicultural, international settings taught me to communicate with more empathy, listen more deeply, and adapt creatively to diverse audiences.

Over the years, I’ve explored many paths—teaching, writing, freelancing—but purposeful communication has remained the constant thread.Whether it’s designing a campaign, crafting a message, or creating a moment of connection, I always return to the PR mindset.

That’s what I love about this field. It’s not just about publicity—it’s about storytelling with heart, thoughtful brand-building, and creating authentic connections.

So this World PR Day, I’m celebrating the part of PR that doesn’t always get the spotlight: The creative thinking. The cultural connection. The work behind the story. That’s the part I’ll never get tired of.For me, that’s the heart of PR—and it’s what keeps me inspired year after year.
